Category: "Why, God?" and Forgiving Oneself
My Wonderful Coma is a two-act comedy-drama that deals with "How could you do this to me, God?!" as well as self-forgivenes and letting go of the pain of guilt. With a running time of one hour and 45 minutes (including a ten-minute intermission), this piece is ideal for a Friday or Saturday night event, or to replace a midweek service.
A car accident in 1989 renders a "totally-80s" teen, Monica Wyatt, unconscious for nearly twenty years. When she awakens in 2008, she finds her once-perfect life in shambles and a whole new, unrecognizable world around her. Although the plot deals with intense issues, including losing 19 years of life and unforgiveness, like all of Boikian's works, there are countless comedic moments sprinkled throughout this passionate and gripping play.
